Dr. Melissa Theide

Melissa Theide began her career as an educator in 1996, serving as a classroom teacher, an assistant principal, a principal, and as Director of Human Resources before joining the 91社区leadership team. She served as the 91社区Director of Human Resources for our district from 2016 - 2021, before taking on the leadership of the Educational Services division.
 
Dr. Theide received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, a Masters in Educational Administration from Cal State San Bernardino, and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University.   She brings a focus on equity to her leadership role as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, and focused the work of her doctoral dissertation on "Creating a Teaching, Leading, and Learning Culture to Meet the Needs of Diverse Learners".

The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region 6 recognized Ms. Theide for her outstanding leadership in 2020 as Central Office Employee of the Year.

Dr. Theide is a Livermore resident. She and her husband, Mike,  have three adult children, the youngest of which attended and graduated from Livermore schools.  In her free time she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends. 

Division Responsibilities

  • The Educational Services Division is responsible for all aspects of the District's curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology programs, as well as for professional development of administrators, teachers, and classified personnel. The assistant superintendent works with our schools and community representatives to plan and implement our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). He oversees the Single Plans for Student Achievement that provide the framework for each school's annual goals and achievements.
