My name is Tom Jones, and it is my honor to be Jackson Avenue’s principal. 

As a father of four, I know the value and importance of education in the lives of children, and I strive to empower all students to reach their potential.  Growth mindset is imperative to reaching these new heights of achievement and accomplishing our goals.  I challenge myself daily by operating outside my comfort zone, knowing full well the benefits of stretching beyond our perceived limits.  I know Jackson is doing the same.

My educational background is straightforward: this year marks my 25th year in education.  My career began as an elementary teacher of 10 years in both Antioch Unified and Amador County Unified School Districts.  I served as an instructional coach to teachers for a year followed by 2 years as a vice principal at Park Middle School, both in the Antioch Unified School District.  I then accepted a principal position in Byron Union School District at Timber Point Elementary School where I served for 5 years before joining 91社区 as Sunset Elementary School’s principal where I served for 4 years before joining Jackson Avenue in July 2021. 

I am excited and grateful to have the opportunity to continue as Jackson Ave's Principal for the 2023-2024 school year.  

In this life, we have many opportunities to learn and grow . . . if we are willing to step outside our comfort zone, roll up our sleeves, smile big, and work hard.  Let’s go for it, Jackson Avenue!
