Hello and Welcome! My name is Lindsey Thissen and this is my second year as an East Avenue Dolphin!! I am SO excited to be here and look forward to the year ahead. I LOVE MATH, and I hope by the end of the school year, your child will too. If they don't, your child will leave this class with the skills and confidence to solve problems in math and hopefully in life. My philosophy of teaching is that we may not need to solve the Pythagorean Theorem or calculate the volume of a cone in our daily lives and careers, but every single person will need to know how to solve problems, how to approach a task from different directions, and think critically while utilizing 21st century skills. We practice math skills and life skills all at the same time. When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my family, books, food, and running. I look forward to meeting and working with each family as we progress through the year, and helping your child have a successful 2019-2020 school year!
