Board Correspondence

Communicating at Board Meetings

  • Community members have the opportunity to address the 91社区 during the "Communications from the Public" portion of each regular meeting. Comments may be shared about items on the agenda as well as items not on the agenda. Comments may be shared for up to 3 minutes.

Communicating via Letter or Email

  • Input can be shared with the Board through written (or emailed) correspondence. In accordance with Board Bylaw 9123, written correspondence must meet the following guidelines:

    1. Formal written correspondence is defined as hard copy correspondence which is dated, contains an original signature, and is addressed to all Board members. Electronic communications received via the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) web site by accessing the "Formal Written Correspondence to the 91社区" form (provided on this page), with all fields completed, shall be treated as formal written correspondence.
    2. Formal written correspondence must include verifiable contact information.
    3. Formal written correspondence to the Board shall be acknowledged if received by the Board, or in the Superintendent's office, by 4:00 p.m. the day before the meeting. Formal written correspondence received after the cutoff time will be acknowledged at the following meeting.
    4. Formal written correspondence to the Board is a part of the public record.

    Formal written correspondence to the Board shall be acknowledged as part of the regular meeting by the board clerk. Correspondence will be identified by topic, author and position. At the clerk's discretion, this formal written correspondence shall be read, summarized, or the writer's position noted.
