Parcel Tax Information

  • Measure A

For almost 20 years, 91社区schools have relied upon locally-controlled school funding approved by our community to retain quality teachers and core academic programs. The 91社区 School Board placed the ballot measure, Measure A, before voters in the May 3, 2022 election. With a 2/3 vote needed to pass for an additional seven years, voters showed up at the polls and passed Measure A with a 67.31% "yes" vote. The renewal of this parcel tax continues critical funding to Livermore public schools, which began in 2004 with Measure D, and followed with Measure M in 2010, and Measure G in 2014.  All Livermore students in grades K-12 benefit from this reliable source of funding, which is locally controlled and monitored by an Independent Oversight Committee.

Thank you to the Livermore community for the passage of Measure A, securing funding for our schools. This funding will provide approximately $4 million in annual revenue, and will maintain the quality of education in 91社区schools, and support our students, teachers, and programs.

Measure A extends, but does not increase, the current annual tax rate of $138 per parcel for 7 years, and provides a stable, dedicated source of local funding to:

    • Provide elementary science and TK-12 technology specialists
    • Attract and retain highly qualified teachers
    • Maintain academic achievement in math, science, reading, writing, engineering and technology
    • Keep classroom technology and curriculum up-to-date
    • Maintain small class sizes

    Fiscal Accountability is Required

    • All money raised by Measure A continues to be controlled locally and only go to 91社区schools
    • No funds can be taken away by the State
    • By law, no funds from Measure A can be used for administrators’ salaries
    • The measure requires independent citizen oversight, annual audits, and reports to the community to ensure the District uses the funds as promised
    • Senior citizens over the age of 65 will continue to be eligible for an exemption from the cost of Measure A

This current parcel tax commenced on July 1, 2022 and remains in effect for seven (7) fiscal years, concluding on June 30, 2029.
